Poor Posh

I didn’t think I’d ever hear myself say this but I feel really, genuinely sorry for Victoria Beckham.
Have you ever seen a more desperate looking woman? Only someone seriously unhappy and grappling for control would allow themselves to become as emaciated as her. She looks frighteningly thin in the latest pictures taken at the Burberry Show at London Fashion Show last night – have a look at www.dailymail.co.uk. They actually make me want to cry. Never has a woman looked more sick or scared or sad and she really needs some help.
I bet it’s all to do with David. Here’s an interesting thing about the Beckhams. How many women find David attractive? Er, every woman in the world if she’s honest. How many men find Victoria attractive? I don’t know one. Does David fancy his wife? I can’t imagine anyone would actually find her sexy at the moment – she’s a bag of bones. Instead, he must be terrified at what his wife has turned into and not know what on earth to do about it.
When you think about them as ordinary people, rather than celebrities, it kind of makes more sense.
Gorgeous, successful husband has affair, publicly humiliating his wife and the mother of his kids. She manages to hang on to him but becomes increasingly neurotic and borderline anorexic as she worries he is going to do it again and leave her with a pretty empty, ordinary life.
You know what you should do, Victoria? Get some serious counselling. Work out what is properly important to you and would give your life some meaning. Then go and do it. Study architecture, learn to paint, do yoga, play the violin, go to Africa and help someone….it doesn’t matter what it is, but you need to find stuff to do except pose at fashion shows and pout at photographers outside fancy restaurants and starve yourself. Grow, girl.

Then...

Then...

...and now

...and now

Trumpet lady

September 22nd, 2009 mum-e Posted in News No Comments »

The only discussion I had with Not So Alpha Male this morning before I went to work (looking after the features at London Lite, the evening freebie paper, covering a maternity leave for six months) was about the lesbian trumpet teacher.
Should she have been jailed?
‘Not really,’ said he. ‘The pupil was consenting, the relationship is ongoing, the teacher is obviously fantastic and was a child prodigy, plus she is really pretty and not like some vile butch predator or something. I feel really sorry for her.’
Such a typical bloke’s response. How many relevant points can you see there?
Er…none.
The woman was a teacher. The girl was a pupil. And not just that – she was going through the trauma of her parents separating, by all accounts. A teacher has a duty to look after and support a pupil, not do rude sex stuff with her, particularly when she is at a vulnerable point. How on earth do you end up going on to have ‘normal’ (I don’t mean straight, I just been balanced) relationship after that?
Of course she should have gone to jail…if she was a man I don’t think anyone would doubt that. The fact that she is talented, blonde, looks like she wouldn’t harm a fly and used to go out with that cute, fair-haired guy in G4 is totally nothing to do with it.

The bloke from G4 probably wont turn up at prison looking like this

Shocking O2 Joggler news!

July 7th, 2009 mum-e Posted in News 4 Comments »

CALLING ALL JOGGLER TESTERS
It turns out that O2 have discovered an issue with a small number of Joggler power supply units (Lucky me – I’ve got a dodgy one and thought the little static shocks my Joggler has been giving me were down to me wearing too much stretchy jersey fabric or something, it didn’t occur to me that the problem was the power unit!)
Anyway, although this really is nothing major and certainly not dangerous, the O2 folk are currently arranging to have these replaced.
They are currently in the process of calling all O2 Joggler customers to arrange for a replacement power supply unit to be sent to them. All O2 Joggler trialists will have been contacted within the next 24 hours.
There is nothing to worry about, this doesn’t pose any kind of risk to anyone. You’re safe to continue to use your current power supply unit but if you’re at all worried, we’d advise you to turn off your O2 Joggler at the wall socket and wait until your replacement power supply unit arrives.
You can get more information at http://shop.o2.co.uk/update/o2joggler.html or by calling freephone 0800 083 7373.
